HERITAGE HANDCRAFTED IN CHILE – Each 10″ rainstick is handcrafted by native artisans from Chile using the naturally grown Copado cactus found in the deserts of Chile, South America. This ensures both musical quality and durability. The process includes hollowing out the cactus, which has matured over decades, and inserting spines and pebbles to create its distinctive rainfall sound.
CAPTIVATING RAINFALL SOUND – Enjoy a richer, clearer, and more resonant rain-like sound with our rainstick. It offers a rain-trickle sound that can last for a few seconds when played correctly. Tip the rainstick at an angle and slowly rotate it for a longer rain sound, allowing the filler to trickle slowly through the cactus.
CULTURALLY RICH DESIGN – Wrapped in brightly dyed rasta-colored yarn (red/yellow/green), this rainstick is not only a musical instrument but also a vibrant cultural artifact. The colors and construction reflect a deep heritage and add a visually appealing element to its design.

Experience the enchanting sound of rainfall with our 10″” Authentic Cactus Rainstick, meticulously handcrafted by native artisans in Chile. The 10″” compact length rain stick offers a rain-trickle sound that can last for a few seconds when played correctly, and not as long as our 25″”-50″” rain sticks. This instrument produces a mystical rain-trickle sound that can be extended when played correctly—simply tip the rainstick at an angle and rotate slowly to intensify the sound. Versatile in use, it also functions effectively as a percussion shaker.

Our authentic rainsticks are crafted from the naturally grown Copado cactus in the deserts of Chile, South America. After living about six decades and naturally expiring, cultural artisans obtain permits to legally harvest the dried cactus plants, then skillfully process the wood into a rainstick using traditional methods. Each one is cleaned and hollowed out, then the cactus spines and small sticks are carefully pressed back into the cactus body, and tiny pebbles are sealed inside, creating that unique rainfall sound. Each rainstick is then sanded and sealed, and yarn is hand wrapped around one end. This traditional instrument is still used in rain ceremonies throughout South America, echoing its cultural significance.

Each rainstick features a sturdy construction and is wrapped in brightly colored handspun Chilean yarn in rasta colors (red, yellow, green). It is finished with a high-quality sealant for a smooth, durable, and easy-to-clean surface, ensuring it withstands frequent use in any setting—from classrooms to music bands. Each purchase helps to provide sustainable livelihoods for artisans in developing countries, and helps to underwrite the charitable work of Africa Heartwood Project, supporting community and livelihoods in West Africa. Your choice enhances the musical experience while making a meaningful social impact.
